- Information collected outside of Beni's communications system.
1. Our Role in Protecting Health Information
Beni is distributed by healthcare providers to support patient care. Any health information you share through Beni is handled in compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA).
Protected Health Information ("PHI") is only disclosed to your provider and trusted business associates under HIPAA rules. Your provider's Notice of Privacy Practices describes in detail how PHI may be used.
2. Who Beni Serves
Beni is designed for patients receiving care through participating providers.
Children under 13: Beni and our website are not intended for children under age 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us at support@beni.health so we can remove it.
3. Information We Collect
We may collect the following categories of information:
- Basic Identifiers: Name, phone number, email address, or similar details.
- Care-Related Information: Information you choose to provide to support reminders, check-ins, or provider follow-up.
- Device & Technical Data: IP address, browser type, operating system, usage logs, cookies.
- Communications Data: Records of SMS consent, call or message history, and opt-out requests (e.g., STOP/HELP).

- Deliver SMS and phone-based reminders, health check-ins, and updates.
- Escalate communications to your doctor or practice when necessary.

6. SMS and Call Program Details
- You must complete and sign a consent form at your healthcare provider's office.
- Staff will explain the Beni program and confirm your mobile phone number on the form.
- You will receive a confirmation text message after enrollment.
- Participation is completely voluntary and you may withdraw consent at any time.
- Typical message frequency is 1–4 per week, depending on your care plan.
- Standard message and data rates may apply.
- You can opt out any time by replying STOP, or request help by replying HELP.
- Consent records are maintained in your provider's system.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights:
- Opting Out of Messages: Reply STOP to stop receiving SMS; HELP for program information.
- Access and Deletion: You may request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting support@beni.health.
- California Residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), you may request details about our data practices and exercise additional rights.
8. Security Practices and Breach Notification
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. While no system is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to reduce risks.
